Spring Semester Update:

I have successfully completed the 2023-2024 spring semester. The most valuable thing I learned during this time was the importance of teamwork.

Of the total of six courses this semester, half of them were courses that required collaboration with teammates throughout the semester. Most of the time I was in a 'leader' role and learned the difference between being good at teamwork and being good at individual work.

For me, despite many years of focusing on personal growth and success, I've learned that I perceived a lot of things wrong when it comes to working as a team. There were even cases where I had to do some work alone because I was not able to distinguish the strengths and weaknesses of each of my team members and I lacked the ability to properly distribute the work. But in the middle of the semester, I developed those qualities in myself and learned to see in others their strengths and not just their flaws.

In order to do this, of course, I first had to accept others as they are and understand that it is wrong to impose my own unrealistic expectations on others.

As I am studying to become a financial manager, I think that what I have learned and understood in this semester has brought me one step closer to becoming a competent manager in the future.

Fall Semester Update:

I’m currently studying in Financial Management at the University of Finance and Economics.

I gained more experience and knowledge in the last year, which was only two semesters than I did during the whole time I was in high school. So, I wanted to share the most important two with you.

Firstly, time management is very important when it comes to getting any kind of work done. When I was in high school, my family or school created schedules for me. Now I, myself, have to take care of it. I feel like time management should be more like a habit than an actual skill. I’m still working on it, even though sometimes I procrastinate.

Secondly, teamwork really does open many doors for anyone. Last semester, I got to experience one of the biggest team Olympiads. It was an Economics Olympiad. I was personally really interested in the subject and pretty confident that we were going to win. But not too soon did I realize that no matter how good you are on your own, it is not going to change anything if you don’t know how to use your skills in TEAM. (The picture I sent was taken during the Olympiad) I need to work with my colleagues, understand them, and make them understand me when I graduate and get a job. Thus, I believe that teamwork skill has many aspects to it, which I am still trying to achieve.
